Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2012 Christies in London held the auction Maritime Art, which included the work The Battle of Trafalgar, 21st October 1805 by George Clarkson Stanfield. The price achieved of GBP 10,000.00 (€ 12,459.56) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Admittedly, works by George Clarkson Stanfield have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work La Punta della Dogana à Venise in September 2016 with an auction result of EUR 67,500.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2012 führte Christies in London die Auktion Maritime Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Battle of Trafalgar, 21st October 1805 von George Clarkson Stanfield zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 10.000,00 (€ 12.459,56) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von George Clarkson Stanfield auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit La Punta della Dogana à Venise im September 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 67.500,00.
