Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Lago Lugano by George Clarkson Stanfield was sold in the British & Continental Paintings auction at Sothebys in London in October 2007. The price achieved of GBP 5,000.00 (€ 7,180.33) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Admittedly, works by George Clarkson Stanfield have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work La Punta della Dogana à Venise in September 2016 with an auction result of EUR 67,500.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Lago Lugano von George Clarkson Stanfield wurde im Oktober 2007 in der Auktion British & Continental Paintings bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 5.000,00 (€ 7.180,33) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von George Clarkson Stanfield auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit La Punta della Dogana à Venise im September 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 67.500,00.
