Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Ferrying animals across the lake at Windermere; and Figures sitting outside a farmstead (both illustrated) by George Barret was auctioned at Christies in London in November 2010. The price achieved of GBP 3,500.00 (€ 4,182.49) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 3,000.00 – 4,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by George Barret achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A wooded river landscape with a man fishing in the foreground, a shepherd playing a flute beside a flock of sheep and a town beyond; and A wooded river landscape with fishermen in a boat, a ruined building beyond and figures crossing a bridge in December 2010 with an auction result of GBP 481,250.00 (€ 558,248.55).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Ferrying animals across the lake at Windermere; and Figures sitting outside a farmstead (both illustrated) von George Barret kam im November 2010 bei Christies in London zur Auktion.
