Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by George Barret could be acquired at Christies in London in September 2013 for an unexpectedly low price. In the The Collection of Professor Sir Albert Richardson, P.R.A. auction, the work Farm-labourers conversing in a field changed hands for GBP 3,750.00 (€ 4,482.55) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by George Barret achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A wooded river landscape with a man fishing in the foreground, a shepherd playing a flute beside a flock of sheep and a town beyond; and A wooded river landscape with fishermen in a boat, a ruined building beyond and figures crossing a bridge in December 2010 with an auction result of GBP 481,250.00 (€ 558,248.55).
Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A wooded river landscape with a man fishing in the foreground, a shepherd playing a flute beside a flock of sheep and a town beyond; and A wooded river landscape with fishermen in a boat, a ruined building beyond and figures crossing a bridge im Dezember 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 481.250,00 (€ 558.248,55).
