Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2020 Bonhams in Edinburgh held the auction The Sporting & Wildlife Sale, which included the work 'Factor' - Hound from The Linlithgow & Stirlingshire Hunt by George Algernon Fothergill. The price achieved of GBP 484.50 (€ 534.24) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 400.00 – 600.00. Other works by George Algernon Fothergill have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in July 2009 the work An album of drawings and watercolours, the majority equestrian studies including: A sketch from the life of Bibiani (illustrated); Studies of dogs; and Studies of tack was auctioned for GBP 525.00 (€ 595.72).
