In July 2000 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction Pictures, Watercolours and Drawings, which included the work Oude boeken - old books on a ledge by Georg Rueter. The »bidding war« ended at NLG 4,446.76 (€ 1,954.64), 27% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Georg Rueter have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Roses in a blanc de Chine vase in July 2000 with an auction result of NLG 21,063.60 (€ 9,258.80).

Im Juli 2000 führte Christies in Amsterdam die Auktion Pictures, Watercolours and Drawings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Oude boeken - old books on a ledge von Georg Rueter zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von NLG 4.446,76 (€ 1.954,64) und damit 27% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Georg Rueter auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Roses in a blanc de Chine vase im Juli 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von NLG 21.063,60 (€ 9.258,80).
