Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The White Lily by Georg Dionysius Ehret was sold in the A Fine Line: Master Works on Paper from Five Centuries auction at Sothebys in London in July 2021. It changed hands for a price of GBP 18,900.00 (€ 22,164.17) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Georg Dionysius Ehret - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Gloriosa superba (Glory Lily), which sold at auction in June 2001 for GBP 30,550.00 (€ 50,749.63).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit The White Lily von Georg Dionysius Ehret wurde im Juli 2021 in der Auktion A Fine Line: Master Works on Paper from Five Centuries bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 18.900,00 (€ 22.164,17) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 15.000,00 – 20.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Georg Dionysius Ehret mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Gloriosa superba (Glory Lily) beobachtet, die im Juni 2001 für GBP 30.550,00 (€ 50.749,63) versteigert wurde.
