Auction result misses estimated price range
In April 2019 a collector was able to acquire the work Ugan Danmusic At Night by Geoffrey Mukasa for GBP 4,750.00 (€ 5,525.62). This price was achieved in the auction Modern & Contemporary African Art at Sothebys in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 5,000.00 – 7,000.00 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Geoffrey Mukasa - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Fisherwoman, which sold at auction in March 2021 for GBP 12,112.50 (€ 14,229.07).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im April 2019 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Ugan Danmusic At Night von Geoffrey Mukasa für GBP 4.750,00 (€ 5.525,62) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Modern & Contemporary African Art bei Sothebys in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 5.000,00 – 7.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Geoffrey Mukasa mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Fisherwoman beobachtet, die im März 2021 für GBP 12.112,50 (€ 14.229,07) versteigert wurde.
