Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2013 Sothebys in Beijing held the auction Modern and Contemporary Chinese Art, which included this untitled work by Geng Jianyi. The price achieved of CNY 472,000.00 (€ 56,589.30) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as CNY 400,000.00 – 500,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Geng Jianyi achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Two People Under A Light in April 2011 with an auction result of HKD 18,580,000.00 (€ 1,614,671.07).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember 2013 führte Sothebys in Beijing die Auktion Modern and Contemporary Chinese Art durch, in der auch diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Geng Jianyi zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von CNY 472.000,00 (€ 56.589,30) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit CNY 400.000,00 – 500.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Geng Jianyi erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Two People Under A Light im April 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 18.580.000,00 (€ 1.614.671,07).
