Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Geng Jianyi achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Hong Kong in April 2014. In the Contemporary Asian Art auction, the work As If Walking sold for HKD 1,060,000.00 (€ 98,586.88) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 500,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Geng Jianyi achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Two People Under A Light in April 2011 with an auction result of HKD 18,580,000.00 (€ 1,614,671.07).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Geng Jianyi erzielte im April 2014 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Contemporary Asian Art wurde die Arbeit As If Walking für HKD 1.060.000,00 (€ 98.586,88) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 500.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Geng Jianyi erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Two People Under A Light im April 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 18.580.000,00 (€ 1.614.671,07).
