In May 2013 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Asian Contemporary Art (Day Sale), which included the work The Highlight Area of Two Faces Series: No. 9; & No. 15 by Geng Jianyi. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 150,000.00 (€ 14,875.27), 50% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Geng Jianyi achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Two People Under A Light in April 2011 with an auction result of HKD 18,580,000.00 (€ 1,614,671.07).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 50 % übertroffen
Im Mai 2013 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion Asian Contemporary Art (Day Sale) durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Highlight Area of Two Faces Series: No. 9; & No. 15 von Geng Jianyi zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 150.000,00 (€ 14.875,27) und damit 50% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Geng Jianyi erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Two People Under A Light im April 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 18.580.000,00 (€ 1.614.671,07).
