Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Geng Jianyi could be acquired at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2011 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Contemporary Asian Art auction, this work without title changed hands for HKD 500,000.00 (€ 46,174.80) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of HKD 600,000.00 – 700,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Geng Jianyi achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Two People Under A Light in April 2011 with an auction result of HKD 18,580,000.00 (€ 1,614,671.07).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Geng Jianyi konnte im Oktober 2011 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Contemporary Asian Art wechselte diese Arbeit ohne Titel für HKD 500.000,00 (€ 46.174,80) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 600.000,00 – 700.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Geng Jianyi erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Two People Under A Light im April 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 18.580.000,00 (€ 1.614.671,07).
