Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2012 Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Contemporary Asian Art, which included the work Decorative Edge No. 5 by Geng Jianyi. The price achieved of HKD 375,000.00 (€ 36,539.04) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 300,000.00 – 500,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Geng Jianyi achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Two People Under A Light in April 2011 with an auction result of HKD 18,580,000.00 (€ 1,614,671.07).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April 2012 führte Sothebys in Hong Kong die Auktion Contemporary Asian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Decorative Edge No. 5 von Geng Jianyi zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 375.000,00 (€ 36.539,04) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 300.000,00 – 500.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Geng Jianyi erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Two People Under A Light im April 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 18.580.000,00 (€ 1.614.671,07).
