In January this year Bonhams held the auction Prints & Photographs | Bonhams Skinner, which included the work Royal Curtain by Gene Davis. The »bidding war« ended at USD 765.00 (€ 704.55), 28% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Gene Davis achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Legato In Red in September 2019 with an auction result of USD 187,500.00 (€ 171,939.48).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 28 % übertroffen
Im Januar diesen Jahres führte Bonhams die Auktion Prints & Photographs | Bonhams Skinner durch, in der auch die Arbeit Royal Curtain von Gene Davis zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 765,00 (€ 704,55) und damit 28% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Gene Davis erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Legato In Red im September 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 187.500,00 (€ 171.939,48).
