This artwork by Gene Davis achieved an unexpectedly high price at Artcurial in November this year. In the Limited Edition auction, the work Mostly Mozart - 1975 sold for EUR 2,886.00 - well above the upper estimate of EUR 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Gene Davis achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Legato In Red in September 2019 with an auction result of USD 187,500.00 (€ 171,939.48).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 92 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Gene Davis erzielte im November diesen Jahres bei Artcurial einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Limited Edition wurde die Arbeit Mostly Mozart - 1975 für EUR 2.886,00 versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von EUR 1.500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Gene Davis erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Legato In Red im September 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 187.500,00 (€ 171.939,48).
