Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2015 Sothebys in New York held the auction Latin America: Modern Art, which included this untitled work by Gego. The price achieved of USD 100,000.00 (€ 94,679.04) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 90,000.00 – 120,000.00. Admittedly, works by Gego have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Dibujo sin papel 85/13 in May 2015 with an auction result of USD 701,000.00 (€ 637,620.52).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2015 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Latin America: Modern Art durch, in der auch diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Gego zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 100.000,00 (€ 94.679,04) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 90.000,00 – 120.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Gego auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Dibujo sin papel 85/13 im Mai 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 701.000,00 (€ 637.620,52).
