Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2015 Sothebys in New York held the auction Latin America: Modern Art, which included the work Sin Título (Torrecilla) by Gego. It changed hands for a price of USD 137,500.00 (€ 130,183.68) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 100,000.00 – 150,000.00. Admittedly, works by Gego have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Dibujo sin papel 85/13 in May 2015 with an auction result of USD 701,000.00 (€ 637,620.52).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2015 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Latin America: Modern Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Sin Título (Torrecilla) von Gego zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 137.500,00 (€ 130.183,68) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 100.000,00 – 150.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Gego auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Dibujo sin papel 85/13 im Mai 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 701.000,00 (€ 637.620,52).
