Auction result well in line with expectations
In February 2002 Christies in New York held the auction FINE AMERICAN PAINTINGS, DRAWINGS AND SCULPTURE, which included the work Clearing the Field by Gayle Porter Hoskins. The price achieved of USD 5,875.00 (€ 6,785.63) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Gayle Porter Hoskins - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Battle of Little Bighorn, which sold at auction in January last year for USD 30,000.00 (€ 26,757.05).

Im Februar 2002 führte Christies in New York die Auktion FINE AMERICAN PAINTINGS, DRAWINGS AND SCULPTURE durch, in der auch die Arbeit Clearing the Field von Gayle Porter Hoskins zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 5.875,00 (€ 6.785,63) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Gayle Porter Hoskins mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Battle of Little Bighorn beobachtet, die im Januar letzten Jahres für USD 30.000,00 (€ 26.757,05) versteigert wurde.
