Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work "Plaid Painting" by Gary Lang was auctioned at Bukowski in Stockholm in October 2018, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of SEK 40,000.00 – 60,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for SEK 25,000.00 (€ 2,411.31). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Gary Lang - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Lake Poway, which sold at auction in October 2000 for USD 4,700.00 (€ 5,538.53).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit "Plaid Painting" von Gary Lang im Oktober 2018 bei Bukowski in Stockholm versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von SEK 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für SEK 25.000,00 (€ 2.411,31) den Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Gary Lang mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Lake Poway beobachtet, die im Oktober 2000 für USD 4.700,00 (€ 5.538,53) versteigert wurde.
