Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Hippy Hollow, Lake Travis, Austin, Texas by Garry Winogrand was sold in the Prints & Photographs auction at Bonhams in Skinner Boston in January 2024. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 2,176.00 (€ 1,901.77) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Garry Winogrand achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Women Are Beautiful in October 2008 with an auction result of USD 116,500.00 (€ 91,862.48).

Die Arbeit Hippy Hollow, Lake Travis, Austin, Texas von Garry Winogrand wurde im Januar 2024 in der Auktion Prints & Photographs bei Bonhams in Skinner Boston versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 2.176,00 (€ 1.901,77) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
