Artwork auctioned at three times the upper estimate price
When the work Seven-Character Couplet In Running Script by Gao Yehou was auctioned at China Guardian in Hong Kong in November 2016, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - HKD 5,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than three times as high at HKD 17,700.00 (€ 2,156.86). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Gao Yehou achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Plum Blossoms in April 2017 with an auction result of HKD 375,000.00 (€ 44,263.42).
Kunstwerk zum Dreifachen des oberen Schätzpreises versteigert
Als die Arbeit Seven-Character Couplet In Running Script von Gao Yehou im November 2016 bei China Guardian in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der obere Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – HKD 5.000,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit HKD 17.700,00 (€ 2.156,86) mehr als dreimal so hoch. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Gao Yehou erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Plum Blossoms im April 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 375.000,00 (€ 44.263,42).
