The work Night of the Puppeteer by Ganesh Pyne was worth USD 264,600.00 (€ 250,000.00) to a buyer in September this year. This price was achieved in the auction South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art at Christies in New York and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of USD 80,000.00 many times over. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Ganesh Pyne; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Slumberland sold at auction in March last year with the realized price of USD 529,200.00 (€ 477,057.60).
