This artwork by Ganesh Pyne achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in September this year. In the South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art auction, the work Before the Lamp sold for USD 37,800.00 (€ 35,714.29) - well above the upper estimate of USD 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ganesh Pyne achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Slumberland in March last year with an auction result of USD 529,200.00 (€ 477,057.60).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Ganesh Pyne erzielte im September diesen Jahres bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art wurde die Arbeit Before the Lamp für USD 37.800,00 (€ 35.714,29) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 15.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ganesh Pyne erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Slumberland im März letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 529.200,00 (€ 477.057,60).
