In December 2018 Sothebys in London held the auction Old Masters Evening Sale, which included the work The Judgement Of Paris by Gaetano Gandolfi. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 187,500.00 (€ 208,891.63), 25% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Gaetano Gandolfi achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Diana and Callisto in January 2010 with an auction result of USD 4,114,500.00 (€ 2,966,474.41).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 25 % übertroffen
Im Dezember 2018 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Old Masters Evening Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Judgement Of Paris von Gaetano Gandolfi zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 187.500,00 (€ 208.891,63) und damit 25% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Gaetano Gandolfi erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Diana and Callisto im Januar 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 4.114.500,00 (€ 2.966.474,41).
