Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2017 Christies in London held the auction Old Masters Evening Sale, which included the work Diana and Endymion by Gaetano Gandolfi. The price achieved of GBP 437,000.00 (€ 487,624.89) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 350,000.00 – 550,000.00. Admittedly, works by Gaetano Gandolfi have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Diana and Callisto in January 2010 with an auction result of USD 4,114,500.00 (€ 2,966,474.41).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juli 2017 führte Christies in London die Auktion Old Masters Evening Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Diana and Endymion von Gaetano Gandolfi zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 437.000,00 (€ 487.624,89) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 350.000,00 – 550.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Gaetano Gandolfi auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Diana and Callisto im Januar 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 4.114.500,00 (€ 2.966.474,41).
