Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Gaetano Chierici achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in May 2012. In the 19th Century European Art auction, the work Italian joys Of Childhood sold for USD 254,500.00 (€ 205,839.53) - well above the upper estimate of USD 120,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Gaetano Chierici; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot L'ultimo nato sold at auction in June 2002 with the realized price of GBP 248,650.00 (€ 384,605.24).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Gaetano Chierici erzielte im Mai 2012 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion 19th Century European Art wurde die Arbeit Italian joys Of Childhood für USD 254.500,00 (€ 205.839,53) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 120.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Gaetano Chierici; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit L'ultimo nato im Juni 2002 mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 248.650,00 (€ 384.605,24).
