Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Gioie Infantili by Gaetano Chierici was sold in the 19th Century European & Orientalist Art auction at Christies in London in December 2017. It changed hands for a price of GBP 118,750.00 (€ 133,635.73) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 80,000.00 – 120,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Gaetano Chierici - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work L'ultimo nato, which sold at auction in June 2002 for GBP 248,650.00 (€ 384,605.24).

Die Arbeit Gioie Infantili von Gaetano Chierici wurde im Dezember 2017 in der Auktion 19th Century European & Orientalist Art bei Christies in London versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 118.750,00 (€ 133.635,73) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 80.000,00 – 120.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Gaetano Chierici mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit L'ultimo nato beobachtet, die im Juni 2002 für GBP 248.650,00 (€ 384.605,24) versteigert wurde.
