Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Naples, A View Of Posillipo From Chiaia by Gabriele Ricciardelli was auctioned at Sothebys in London in December 2011. It changed hands for a price of GBP 55,250.00 (€ 66,169.68) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. Admittedly, works by Gabriele Ricciardelli have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Lanterna del Molo, Naples, with figures, the bay and Vesuvius beyond in December 2006 with an auction result of GBP 299,200.00 (€ 444,050.25).
