Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A view of the Bay of Naples, with the Ponte Nuovo by Gabriele Ricciardelli was auctioned at Christies in London in July 2010. The price achieved of GBP 94,850.00 (€ 114,046.44) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 80,000.00 – 120,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Gabriele Ricciardelli - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Lanterna del Molo, Naples, with figures, the bay and Vesuvius beyond, which sold at auction in December 2006 for GBP 299,200.00 (€ 444,050.25).
