Despite a disappointment, a good price for George Augustus Freezor
In June 2005 a collector was able to acquire the work The Royal Festival Hall, 1951 by George Augustus Freezor for GBP 780.00 (€ 1,156.01). This price was achieved in the auction 20th Century British Art at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00 set by the auction house. Despite this disappointing result, The Royal Festival Hall, 1951 is the most expensive artwork by George Augustus Freezor that we have observed at auction so far.
