Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by George Augustus Freezor could be acquired at Christies in London in May 2002 for an unexpectedly low price. In the BRITISH AND CONTINENTAL PICTURES auction, the work Portrait of a woman, looking over her shoulder, wearing a blue lace-collared dress, holding a rose changed hands for GBP 176.25 (€ 276.01) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 300.00 – 500.00. Admittedly, works by George Augustus Freezor have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Royal Festival Hall, 1951 in June 2005 with an auction result of GBP 780.00 (€ 1,156.01).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von George Augustus Freezor konnte im Mai 2002 bei Christies in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion BRITISH AND CONTINENTAL PICTURES wechselte die Arbeit Portrait of a woman, looking over her shoulder, wearing a blue lace-collared dress, holding a rose für GBP 176,25 (€ 276,01) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 300,00 – 500,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von George Augustus Freezor auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Royal Festival Hall, 1951 im Juni 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 780,00 (€ 1.156,01).
