Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by George Augustus Freezor could be acquired at Christies in London in February 2003 for an unexpectedly low price. In the British and Continental Pictures and Works on Paper auction, the work The tambourine girl changed hands for GBP 258.50 (€ 377.40) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 300.00 – 500.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by George Augustus Freezor - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Royal Festival Hall, 1951, which sold at auction in June 2005 for GBP 780.00 (€ 1,156.01).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von George Augustus Freezor konnte im Februar 2003 bei Christies in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion British and Continental Pictures and Works on Paper wechselte die Arbeit The tambourine girl für GBP 258,50 (€ 377,40) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 300,00 – 500,00. Für andere Arbeiten von George Augustus Freezor mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Royal Festival Hall, 1951 beobachtet, die im Juni 2005 für GBP 780,00 (€ 1.156,01) versteigert wurde.
