Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2013 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy, which included the work Five-character Poem in Cursive Script by Fu Shan. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 300,000.00 – 400,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 325,000.00 (€ 32,229.75) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Fu Shan achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Seven-Character Poem In Cursive Script in November 2013 with an auction result of HKD 12,040,000.00 (€ 1,141,525.80).
