The work Unknown by Friedrich Capelari was sold in the JapaneseArt and Design Including Netsuke from the Estate of His Royal Highness The Prince Henry, Duke of Gloucester, KG.,KT.,KP auction at Christies in London in July 2006. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 1,500.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 1,560.00 (€ 2,283.66). Other works by Friedrich Capelari have achieved even higher prices, we observed the highest auction result so far of USD 4,800.00 (€ 4,327.05) in March last year for the work White birds on pomegranate tree at night.
