This artwork by Fritz Brandtner achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Toronto in May 2011. In the Important Canadian Art auction, the work Georgian-Bay sold for CAD 18,000.00 (€ 12,924.04) - well above the upper estimate of CAD 10,000.00. Admittedly, works by Fritz Brandtner have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Interior in May 2012 with an auction result of CAD 71,500.00 (€ 55,874.56).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 80 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Fritz Brandtner erzielte im Mai 2011 bei Sothebys in Toronto einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Important Canadian Art wurde die Arbeit Georgian-Bay für CAD 18.000,00 (€ 12.924,04) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von CAD 10.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Fritz Brandtner auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Interior im Mai 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von CAD 71.500,00 (€ 55.874,56).
