The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of EUR 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, the actual price achieved of EUR 4,375.00 could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by Friedrich Eibner have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in November 2017 the work Ansicht des Basler Münsters was auctioned for EUR 6,820.00.

Die Arbeit Marketday on the square in front of The Cathedral of Strasbourg von Friedrich Eibner kam im September 2010 bei Christies in Amsterdam zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von EUR 4.375,00 konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
