Auction result misses estimated price range
In June 2011 a collector was able to acquire the work Small Village Scene by Frederick Waters Watts for USD 625.00 (€ 430.35). This price was achieved in the auction Christie's Interiors at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 1,500.00 – 2,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Frederick Waters Watts achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Dedham Lock on the River Stour in May this year with an auction result of GBP 40,320.00 (€ 46,912.59).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Juni 2011 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Small Village Scene von Frederick Waters Watts für USD 625,00 (€ 430,35) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Christie's Interiors bei Christies in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 1.500,00 – 2.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Frederick Waters Watts erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Dedham Lock on the River Stour im Mai diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 40.320,00 (€ 46.912,59).
