Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Fingle Bridge On The River Teign, East Devon by Frederick Waters Watts was sold in the Old Master and 19th Century European Paintings and Drawings, including Property from the Estate of Giancarlo Baroni auction at Sothebys in New York in February 2013. The price achieved of USD 9,375.00 (€ 7,167.98) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 8,000.00 – 10,000.00. Admittedly, works by Frederick Waters Watts have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Dedham Lock on the River Stour in May this year with an auction result of GBP 40,320.00 (€ 46,912.59).
