Auction result well in line with expectations
In January 2010 Christies in New York held the auction Old Master & 19th Century Paintings, Drawings, & Watercolors, which included the work Figures in an extensive landscape by Frederick Waters Watts. The price achieved of USD 10,000.00 (€ 7,209.81) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Admittedly, works by Frederick Waters Watts have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Dedham Lock on the River Stour in May this year with an auction result of GBP 40,320.00 (€ 46,912.59).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Januar 2010 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Old Master & 19th Century Paintings, Drawings, & Watercolors durch, in der auch die Arbeit Figures in an extensive landscape von Frederick Waters Watts zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 10.000,00 (€ 7.209,81) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Frederick Waters Watts auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Dedham Lock on the River Stour im Mai diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 40.320,00 (€ 46.912,59).
