Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work 'Paracelsus' by Frederick Sommer was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in April last year. Here, the upper estimate of USD 25,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 27,720.00 (€ 26,307.30). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Frederick Sommer - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work 'Livia', which sold at auction in October 2020 for USD 69,300.00 (€ 59,500.30).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit 'Paracelsus' von Frederick Sommer kam im April letzten Jahres bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 25.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 27.720,00 (€ 26.307,30) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Frederick Sommer mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit 'Livia' beobachtet, die im Oktober 2020 für USD 69.300,00 (€ 59.500,30) versteigert wurde.
