Despite a disappointment, a good price for Frederick Sommer
In October 2020 a collector was able to acquire the work 'Livia' by Frederick Sommer for USD 69,300.00 (€ 59,500.30). This price was achieved in the auction Classic Photographs at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 70,000.00 – 100,000.00 set by the auction house. Despite this disappointing result, 'Livia' is the most expensive artwork by Frederick Sommer that we have observed at auction so far.
