In May 2004 Christies in Melbourne held the auction AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL AND CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS, which included the work Snowy Mountains by Frederick Ronald Williams. The »bidding war« ended at AUD 77,675.00 (€ 45,383.00), 41% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Frederick Ronald Williams achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Upwey Landscape in April 2006 with an auction result of AUD 1,807,000.00 (€ 1,086,862.40).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 41 % übertroffen
Im Mai 2004 führte Christies in Melbourne die Auktion AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL AND CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS durch, in der auch die Arbeit Snowy Mountains von Frederick Ronald Williams zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von AUD 77.675,00 (€ 45.383,00) und damit 41% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Frederick Ronald Williams erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Upwey Landscape im April 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 1.807.000,00 (€ 1.086.862,40).
