Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2004 Christies in Melbourne held the auction AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL AND CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS, which included the work Figure In Lilydale Landscape by Frederick Ronald Williams. The price achieved of AUD 6,572.50 (€ 3,840.10) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Frederick Ronald Williams achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Upwey Landscape in April 2006 with an auction result of AUD 1,807,000.00 (€ 1,086,862.40).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2004 führte Christies in Melbourne die Auktion AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL AND CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS durch, in der auch die Arbeit Figure In Lilydale Landscape von Frederick Ronald Williams zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von AUD 6.572,50 (€ 3.840,10) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit AUD 6.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Frederick Ronald Williams erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Upwey Landscape im April 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 1.807.000,00 (€ 1.086.862,40).
