Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2004 Christies in Melbourne held the auction AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL AND CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS, which included the work Cottlesbridge Landscape With Derelict Car by Frederick Ronald Williams. It changed hands for a price of AUD 179,250.00 (€ 104,730.01) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of AUD 160,000.00 – 180,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Frederick Ronald Williams achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Upwey Landscape in April 2006 with an auction result of AUD 1,807,000.00 (€ 1,086,862.40).

Im Mai 2004 führte Christies in Melbourne die Auktion AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL AND CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS durch, in der auch die Arbeit Cottlesbridge Landscape With Derelict Car von Frederick Ronald Williams zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von AUD 179.250,00 (€ 104.730,01) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von AUD 160.000,00 – 180.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Frederick Ronald Williams erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Upwey Landscape im April 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 1.807.000,00 (€ 1.086.862,40).
