Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In June 2005 Christies in London held the auction British and Continental Watercolours, which included the work A Babbling Stream On The Edge of Dartmoor; And The Devonshire Coast (Illustrated) by Frederick John Widgery. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 800.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 840.00 (€ 1,244.93). Admittedly, works by Frederick John Widgery have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work River Dart; and Yalmpton Creek, Dart (illustrated) in September 2005 with an auction result of GBP 4,560.00 (€ 6,692.13).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Juni 2005 führte Christies in London die Auktion British and Continental Watercolours durch, in der auch die Arbeit A Babbling Stream On The Edge of Dartmoor; And The Devonshire Coast (Illustrated) von Frederick John Widgery zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 800,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 840,00 (€ 1.244,93) einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Frederick John Widgery auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit River Dart; and Yalmpton Creek, Dart (illustrated) im September 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 4.560,00 (€ 6.692,13).
