In April 2008 Christies in London held the auction Christie's Interiors, which included the work A Moorland Landscape by Frederick John Widgery. The result of GBP 500.00 (€ 637.43) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 500.00 – 700.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Frederick John Widgery achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work River Dart; and Yalmpton Creek, Dart (illustrated) in September 2005 with an auction result of GBP 4,560.00 (€ 6,692.13).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im April 2008 führte Christies in London die Auktion Christie's Interiors durch, in der auch die Arbeit A Moorland Landscape von Frederick John Widgery zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 500,00 (€ 637,43) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 500,00 – 700,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Frederick John Widgery erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit River Dart; and Yalmpton Creek, Dart (illustrated) im September 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 4.560,00 (€ 6.692,13).
