Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Christ leads the Blind Man out of Bethsaida by Frederick James Shields was auctioned at Christies in London in November 2011. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 2,000.00 – 4,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 2,250.00 (€ 2,626.64) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Frederick James Shields achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Mary Magdalene in June 2010 with an auction result of GBP 22,500.00 (€ 27,362.09).
