NICHOLAS, RICHMOND,N.YORKSHIRE auction at Christies in London in May 2001. It achieved a price of GBP 1,410.00 (€ 2,363.90), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 18%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Frederick James Shields achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Mary Magdalene in June 2010 with an auction result of GBP 22,500.00 (€ 27,362.09).
