A top price for Frederick Schafer - as previously expected
In November 2011 Christies in New York held the auction Important American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture, which included the work Indians on the Warpath by Frederick Schafer. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 32,500.00 (€ 24,158.18) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Indians on the Warpath is the most expensive artwork by Frederick Schafer that we have observed at auctions so far.
