In the California and Western Art40th Anniversary Auction auction, the work The Bridalveil Fall and El Capitan in the Yosemite Valley sold for USD 21,325.00 (€ 18,309.44) - well above the upper estimate of USD 12,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Frederick Schafer; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Indians on the Warpath sold at auction in November 2011 with the realized price of USD 32,500.00 (€ 24,158.18).
